The 7th International Conference on Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications

26-28 August 2020, Baku, Azerbaijan

The 7th International Conference on Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications (COIA 2020) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, during 26-28 August, 2020  in online format.  The conference was organized by the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University (BSU) with the support from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. This event was held for the fifth  time in Baku.

The three-day conference aims were to provide an environment where researchers and students could meet industry experts to share their views and discuss the final results.

COIA-2020 covers topics such as “Control Theory”, “Optimization”, “Intelligent Systems”, “Fuzzy Control“, “Network and Telecommunications”, “Numerical and Computational Methods”, “Mathematical Modelling and Simulation”, “Applications in Industrial and  Economics”,  “Identification”, “Application of Optimization Procedures in Physical Problems ” etc.   

All aspects of control  and optimization  were  presented in plenary sessions by well-known scientists, as  Tamer Basar (Professor of the University of Illinois, USA), Patricia Melin (Professor of the Tijuana Institute of Technology, Mexico), Rolf Findeisen (Professor of the University of Magdeburg, Germany), Yaroslav Sergeyev (Professor of the University of Calabria, Italy), Leonid Nizhnik (Professor of the Institute of Mathematics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences), Boris Polyak (Professor of the Institute of Control Systems Russian Academy of Sciences).

476 scientists and researchers from around the world have been registered on the website of the conference. The editorial office received  385 articles, and after the review process, 256 articles were published in the conference proceedings in Web of Science. The conference were attended by nearly 220 scientists and researchers from  Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Germany, USA, Mexico, Iran, India, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait.

At the closing ceremony on Friday 28, 2020, Professor Fikret Aliev has announced that the next COIA will be held in 2022 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The PROCEEDINGS of COIA 2020 (Vol1, Vol.2) have been indexed in Web of Science: Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
